This book is great for children who like some mystery and adventure in the books that they read. This is the first book in Margaret Peterson Haddix's Shadow Children series.
This particular book is about Luke, who is a third child in a place where people are only allowed to have two children. He is a shadow child, a third child who has been forbidden by the population police. As a result Like has lived his entire life in hiding. One day Luke sees a girls face in a window. He knows two children alreay live in the house where he saw the girl so he knows the she is a shadow child like him. Will Luke risk everything to come out of the shadows with the girl?
